I love Daddy

I snuck up on Steven and Adelyn when they were playing last night and took some pictures. They are so cute I had to post some. Adelyn loves her Daddy!

Such an endearing look.

She kept holding his face with her hand and smiling really big :)

They finally caught me during my secretive photo shoot. (I guess you can only be undercover about it so long when you have the flash going off...whoops!)

What a cute face! Looks like she is trying to tell me something.

All smiles for the camera.

Sleeping and Sitz Bathes

Recently, we have been trying to transition Adelyn out of the swaddle. This is something that is usually done around 3 months, but since we moved, I waited until now (almost 4 months) because I just didn't want to deal with it. Adelyn has actually done really well, and it hasn't seemed to bother her too much. We have also been trying to wean her from putting her down with her pacifier as well, so I thought it would be a lot harder, but I guess she was ready for it. Something that has been making me laugh every day, though, is that I often look at our video monitor and see her laying quietly in her crib and just staring at her arm/hand. She does it sometimes before she drifts off to sleep or when she wakes up from a nap. I took a pictures of her doing it today and then she looked at me with the cutest most Innocent face when she saw me take a picture. It was almost like she was embarrassed.

"What is that thing up there? I haven't seen that before."

"Hey Mom, I found something up in the air."

"Silly me, it was just my hand!"

We have also been giving Adelyn sitz baths 2x a day b/c she has a pretty bad yeast infection. I put her in a little bit of water with baking soda and she seems to like it a lot. How cute is that face!
(and if you are wondering...that shirt did not stay dry. Hey, at least I tried)

She then gets some time to "air out".

Joe's Wedding

Adelyn went to her first wedding this past weekend. Steven's cousin, Joe, got married in Pennsylvania. It was Adelyn's first trip to Penn, first time meeting lots of her extended family, and first time sleeping in a hotel. She had fun being passed around, staying up all day (naps were few and far between) and dancing with the groom. She handled it all very well, as did her cousing Rob, and she loved all the attention!

Playing with GreatGrandma Carlton the morning after the wedding.

Pop was brave enough to hold them both at the same time. They are so cute together!!

Addie and Rob with the Mother of the groom, Jackie, and Joe's sister, Sarah.

Steven dancing with the bride during the dollar dance...
and with the groom of course :)

Adelyn got to dance with the groom, Joe, as well during the dollar dance. This was her first wedding dance!!

and Rob.

Hanging out with Uncle Will and Aunt Catherine before the wedding.

The Lolly Pop Shop

This past Thursday, I went to the Lolly Pop Shop in Charlottesville, which is a biannual consignment sale. It is wonderful, and you can get new or barely used children's clothes, toys, equipment, games, books etc. for very cheap. I love consignment shops! There is another one this week in Charlottesville called Here We Grow Again, so if you are expecting or have kids, don't miss it!!
While Adelyn and I were in Charlottesville, we visited Kate and even got to see Turner McNernery. We also visitted Poppy at his office and went to lunch at Bodos. Lisee and Poppy's new fellow, Mallory, babysat Addie while I went to the Lolly Pop Shop, which so sweet of her. She offerred to babysit when I met her for the first time last week, and I went ahead and took her up on it less than a week later :) On Friday morning, Adelyn and I got to hand out with Erin McNerney and Anna Kate Campbell. It was a very eventful 24 hours.

Adelyn and Erin McNerney

Baby Kate, Turner and Adelyn were all together for the first time! It was fun to have them all together and to see all the differrent ages.

Adelyn loves her new Bumbo. I got it at the Lolly Pop shop :)

Aren't they cute together?!?

Baby Kate

Adelyn's first girl cousin, Katherine "Kate" Leggit Wood, was born on 09/09/09 @ 1038 weighing 8lbs 8oz. She is absolutely precious, and I got to go visit her the day she was born. Then, Steven and Adelyn got to meet her on Saturday, and it was so fun to see the two girls together. Kate is a beautiful baby girl, and we know the two girls are going to be best friends for life!

Aren't the two girls adorable!! The first of many many pictures together.

Such a beautiful new family of three! Claire couldn't look more gorgeous, especially for just having had a baby...who would know?!?

Doesn't he look so comfortable with that little girl in his arms. He was the most calm dad I have ever seen in a delivery room (and I have seen lots of them!)

Look at that gorgeous face! Just kissable *muah*

Steven with his precious new niece. He was so excited to go visit her!

First Football Game

Adelyn went to her first football game on Sept 5th, Steven's 26th birthday. It was a great birthday present for Steven to have his little girl go to the game with him (the score, on the other hand, was not a good present, but we won't go there...). Adelyn wore and adorable orange and white striped UVA dress given to her by Lauren and Robert. She and Rob looked so cute in their UVA colors! Adelyn wasn't so sure what to think about the loud cheering, but she loved the big TV and the Cav man.

Ready for the game in their orange and blue!

On the way to the game. They weren't so sure what to think about someone sitting behind them in the suburban :)

Tailgating with Uncle Robby, Poppy, and Daddy. Look at all that orange!

Daddy is loving having his daughter at the game.

Here is Adelyn in front of the field and sea of orange.

We're Moving!

Steven and I have finally found a place to move. We have been busily trying to pack up and get things moved over to our new condo in Herndon. It is a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom split level condo and is located about 5 mins from Steven's work. This will be a welcome change as he has been commuting anywhere from 20mins-1hr. That means lots more time for Adelyn to spend with daddy!! We got the keys yesterday, and have been gradually moving things over. It is nice to have a week to move instead of just one day. This is our 4th move since we got married, and I have moved every year since I graduated from highschool. We are definitely moving pros by now! We are sad to move b/c we have loved this place, but we are happy to move closer to Steven's work, and I am excited about the bigger kitchen :) We will officially be in the new place Sept 8th, so come visit us whenever!!

Visit from the Carlton's and cousin Katie

Last week Adelyn's great grandparents, Pop and Grandma Carlton, came into town to visit Adelyn for the first time. Adelyn loved her time with them!

Pop was trying to teach Adelyn to say "Pop". She clearly thought it was fun.

Steven's cousin, Katie, came to visit as well. Katie is working in Arlington, so we are hoping to see lots more of her!

Pop was doing the airplane with Adelyn.

Adelyn loved her great grandma Carlton. She even fell asleep while grandma was holding her at the restaurant.

3 Months Old

Adelyn turned 3months old last week. I have been meaning to write a blog post, but our Internet has not been working.
We can't believe our sweet baby girl is already 3 months old! She is still baring weight on her legs and would much prefer to stand than sit. She rolls over when on her tummy, probably b/c she really hates tummy time right now :). She is very smiley and has even started laughing. It melts our hearts to hear her laugh!! She is babbling a lot and loves to talk to her daddy when he comes home from work. She also loves bringing her hands together and putting them in her mouth. Another fun thing is her hair is starting to turn really blond. I gave her her first hair cut last week b/c the dark newborn hair was growing out long in the back and was looking a little "mulletish" :). We still thought it was cute any way, but figured she might look back at the pictures when she was older and ask me why I didn't cut her hair.
We love our sweet little girl!!

3 months old, and super smiley!

1 month old, and loving on daddy.
