why I haven't posted recently

I guess I put a lot of pictures on the blog b/c apparently I have met my quota for free storage and now they want me to pay to put pics on the blog...hum...I'll try to work it out, but in the mean time, follow me on Instagram b/c I post lots of pics there. It's much easier, I think.  :)

Adelyn's 1st day of Preschool!!

Today, Adelyn attended her 1st day of preschool!  And you wanna know who cried about it....me!  Who would have thought?!?  Last night, I just couldn't get over the thought of my baby (ok, she's 3, but she'll always by my 1st baby) going to school.  I always had a hard time anticipating school, and here I am, anticipating school again and crying about it.  But when the morning of the 1st day of school came, it was game time, and there were no tears to be had! We made eggs for breakfast, grabbed her lunch box and headed to school.  Lisee met us there, which was a huge help b/c Braden was not so pleased about the seeing his Sunday school teacher, whom he though was going to take him, and he burst into tears.  So I guess there were a few tears on school day #1, but not Adelyn's.  Adelyn walked in with her friend Turned, hung up her lunch box, used the potty, and marched right into class, without looking back.  I had anticipated tears, and possibly even running (that is what her daddy did in 1st grade) but not for her!  She did beautifully, and said she had a lot of fun the whole time.  When I asked her what she did at school, she said, "we played, and played and played and it was lots of fun."  Well, I guess she sees school as playing, which is a wonderful thing.  And I got some one-on-one play time with Braden during the 3 hours, which was definitely a good thing as well.  And, to top it all off, Adelyn slept for 3hours during her nap.  Yay for a successful 1st day of school!

Beach Trip With the Lucks

In August, We had the treat of going on a trip to the beach with the Luck Family.  It was a wonderful week, with lots of beach time, lots of help, and lots of fun time with the family.  The beach trips certainly have looked different than the used to over these past 3+ years of parenthood, and I am beginning to get used to the new normal.  It's not always easy, but it's such a joy watching these sweet kids grow up and develop in their love for all things "beach".  It's nice to have married into a family who shares my beach passion, but is also willing to stay up at the house during nap time so that I could get a few moments of quite beach time.  I look forward to many more years of fun Luck Beach Trips.

Some happenings in July

Lots of Princess time (princess books, stories, acting it out, must wear "twirly" dresses...where did she come from?  Not me, I was a major tomboy...oh I love my little princess.)

Lots of Pool Time (thanks to family and neighbors.  This is the Anderson's pool and we love it.  Adelyn is finally getting comfortable swimming by herself with her puddle jumpers on!)

Lots of Jeep Riding Time (unfortunately no longer in Daddy's Jeep b/c we sold it and he is back driving his old blue 4-Runner.  RIP Blue 4door Jeep, but thank you Lisee for providing a fun Jeep for the kids to ride in.)

Lots of Naked Time (and chalk drawing/eating)

Lots of Eating (even though he's still only in the 5th % for weight)

And lots of sibling Time (kissing, screaming, sharing, snagging, learning (not always a good thing...i.e. "MINE"), and loving)
