Weekend at the River House

The River House is a house in Callao, VA off the Potomac river that is owned by Steven's grandparents, Pop and Grandma Luck. Every summer since Steven and I started dating, we have gone to the River House where we water ski, wake board, tube, and just relax and enjoy being with family. This year, our time at the River house looked a little different than usual, as much of it revolved around the two newest Lucks in the family. Adelyn and Robert quite enjoyed their time there, hanging out with Grandma and Pop and their aunts and uncles, lounging in the pool, and playing with the dogs (something Adelyn doesn't get to do a lot of). We all had a wonderful time and were sad we had to leave. It was so relaxing and fun, and we hope to return soon!

It is Adelyn's other aunt, Aunt Catherine's, birthday today. We celebrated it at the river house this past weekend, and are sad we can't be there with her today. Steven, Adelyn and I all send our HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes, though!!

4 Weeks Old

Our little Addie boo is 4 weeks old today! I just can't believe it. It is amazing how much she has grown in just 4 weeks, yet she is still a little peanut! She is smiling a lot more (I know...it is just a reflex or gas, but I still think it is adorable), and she starting to make little noises with her voice (other than crying, that is). She moves her hands and her mouth a lot and it looks like she is trying to tell us something. She is also holding her head up even better than she was before and she pushes with her legs against our hands when she is doing tummy time and looks like a little worm crawling along the floor. She is still getting out a lot, and this week she went to Ashley Lawson and Tyler Tuite's engagement party. She wore her yellow dress in honor of Ashley (because it is her favorite color :) ). She also went to The Falls Church for the first time. She is our little social butterfly!

We miss you very much and think about you often. Adelyn loves the blanket you gave her! Father's Day Firsts

This was the first of many special new Father's Day celebrations in our families. All of our grandfathers are great grandfathers for the first time, our fathers are grandfathers for the first time, Steven and Robert are fathers for the first time, and Robby is a father-to-be for the first time. Happy Father's Day!!

Adelyn's Boys

Since Adelyn was born, she has met lots of handsome young men (or baby boys...gentlemen in training). Like her mommy, all of her friends at a young age are boys. She does not have one baby girl friend, although that will change soon when her girl cousin, Robby and Claire's daughter, is born in September. But for right now, it is Addie and the boys!

Adelyn and Jonathan Dean (Kim and Peter Dean's son). Addie's uncle Skip thinks they should get married one day :)


Adelyn and Turner McNerney (Todd and Katherine McNerney's son). They are going to be beach buds this summer.


And last but certainly not least, Adelyn and Robert, her cousin (Robert and Lauren's son). Steven and I are glad Addie will have an older boy relative to look out for her when she gets older since she won't have an older brother.

I can't believe our sweet little girl is already 3 weeks old! I feel like the time has flown by, but Steven and I also feel like Adelyn has been a part of our lives for much longer than 3 weeks. So much has happened over the past 3 weeks. Adelyn has been to Tysons 1 and 2, to an Irish Pub for Nate Prum's birthday, to Chevy's Restaurant (she even slept through them singing "Happy Birthday" at the table next to us), to church, on many walks, and to Charlottesville! She also has had lots and lots of visitors and has loved meeting all her new friends. Adelyn makes good eye contact and loves to look at people's faces. She will even throw her head back if you put her against your chest in order look at your face. She is the joy of our lives and we just can't imagine life without her.

2nd Doctor's Visit

Adelyn had her second doctors visit on Friday and everything checked out well. She is 7lbs 15oz so she put on over 1 lbs since her last visit. That doctor was very impressed by her weight gain and clearly Addie is a good eater! Her doctor said everything was perfect, which was encouraging since it is hard to tell if you are doing things right. She is a sweet baby and we adore our preceous little girl!
